A little thing about seedlings

Growing seedlings is one of the most attractive methods of gardening, which will interest even those who are far from gardening. First of all, the main purpose of Chitil is to save substantial time. You will no longer have to wait for seeds sown in open ground to germinate.
For experienced farmers, the period of seedling preparation is early spring, when the seeds of vegetables to be grown and the preparation of seedling pots are prepared, the schedule for transferring the ready-made seedling to the open ground is written, etc.
In Georgia, crops such as cucumbers and tomatoes, eggplants and cabbage, all kinds of peppers, cabbage, pumpkin, celery, carrots, etc. are mainly grown by the seedling method. Sh.
Providing the right conditions for the seedling leads to a quality and timely harvest. In this way, it has to create a comfortable environment from the beginning in order to get a properly developed root system that will adapt well to the open ground. Default in comfort is:

  • Selection of aerated soil and fertilizers with the right composition for the development of cultivated crop seeds. Some time ago, farmers had to make their own soil mix at home, but now we have the luxury of buying a ready-made mix at the store.
  • Selection of the size and type of dishes, for example, plastic or peat cups, cassettes, etc. Among the mentioned, it is the most optimal to use peat cups, since peat also performs the function of fertilizer, and the seedling can be transferred to the open ground in a cup.
  • Choosing a warm place to place the seedling, where there will be moderate air circulation without two-sided wind
  • Seed processing and pre-sowing preparation
  • Determination of irrigation mode
  • Choosing the right temperature and humidity
  • Providing proper lighting

The temperature of the soil should be taken into account when transplanting the seedling into the open ground. Remember that different crops require different temperature conditions. Planting in cold soil is one of the biggest mistakes, because in this case the roots have difficulty developing, which prevents the plant from absorbing water and nutrients. It should be noted here that the seedling planted in the open ground is watered after a certain period (depending on the culture) in order to create an incentive for the roots to go deep into the ground to obtain water. In addition, it is not necessary to plant the seedling at a great depth.
After transplanting the seedling into the open ground, at the initial stage it is necessary to protect it from external conditions such as excessive radiation and high temperature, although protection from the sun should not disturb natural aeration.
In addition to air circulation on the surface of the earth, it is also necessary to loosen the ground, which is carried out with special aggregates. During aeration, the soil is enriched with oxygen, the earth circulates, which helps bring moisture and nutrients from the deep layers to the surface.
It should also be said that planting seedlings, applying fertilizers, watering and poisoning should be done before sunrise or after sunset. In other cases, the sun will burn the leaves, which will be exposed to water, fertilizer or chemicals.
If you are a beginner farmer, it is recommended that you consult with a competent specialist when purchasing seedling products, who will inform you about the composition of the soil to be purchased, the rate of addition of fertilizers, etc. Sh.
And we will finish the short review of Chitili with this. We will be glad if you share your experience with growing seedlings. Which crops do you grow using the seedling method?
